I d on't think there is one single event that has occurred recently that is negatively impacting our children. I do believe that society in general has forgotten our children and they have lost hope. There doesn't seem to be a future ahead that they have to look forward to. The recent events around police brutality had given them purpose to a certain extent. The "why"of, why bother to improve myself.

It is said that poor minority parents are less likely than white parents to teach their children to handwrite the alphabet at home, before kindergarten. If so, it's a shame, because it probably results in the "achievement gap". My email address is [email protected]

There are so many. Before you talk about the children, you have address concerns with those who becoming parents. Why do they want to become parents? How do they become parents? Do they an adequate parenting strategy? I believe that our community has for far too long left our futures in the hands of who intend rule us. One of the current issues I read about was the push back on African American history teaching in schools. When we start asking questions we'll see that, the uninvolved, unaware ,or apethetic parent is significant concern

ADVOCATE
advocate (n.) mid-14c., "one whose profession is to plead cases in a court of justice," a technical term from Roman law, from Old French avocat "barrister, advocate, spokesman," from Latin advocatus "one called to aid; a pleader, advocate," noun use of past participle of advocare "to call" (as witness or advisor) from ad- "to" (see ad-) + vocare"to call," related to vocem (see voice (n.)). Also in Middle English as "one who intercedes for another," and "protector, champion, patron." Feminine forms advocatess, advocatrice were in use in 15c."
